D for Dummy Woman, M for Monster's Tools, S for Style Defense, U for Unstable Signs - a feminist examination of graphic design, its dogmatic rules, discriminatory structures and a particularly one-sided canon. The Glossary of Undisciplined Design is based on a decidedly fragmentary and collective approach. It thus combines a multitude of theories and narratives - from visual essays, practical experiments, interviews or advertorials to poems, speculative narrative and academic writing. With around 55 contributions from 20 international designers, activists, educators and theorists, the GUD manual explores pioneers, tools and contradiction.
