• Helen Levitt and Henri Cartier‐Bresson are both iconic modernist
photographers. Levitt is best known for her lyrical NYC street
photography in both b&w and color started in the 1930s and
Cartier‐Bresson was a French humanist photographer considered a
master of candid photography, and an early user of 35mm film.

in 1941 and Cartier‐Bresson in the late 1930s.
